Programs & Services
Available Programs
CEI offers a wide range of programs tailored to adults with disabilities and others with barriers to employment. The programs available to you at CEI depend on your referral source. Most of our clients come through the Medicaid Waiver Program or the DOL Vocational Rehabilitation Program. Please click here to visit our referral information page to learn about the available funding sources for individuals who wish to attend CEI, as well as how to begin the admissions process.
Prevocational & Employment Services
Those interested in working and earning a paycheck can go to work in CEI's workshop, greenhouse, or animal shelter. Several companies contract with CEI to do piece-rate work in assembly, packaging, collating, sealing, and other job tasks. Individuals feel a sense of pride and accomplishment in being able to work while earning a weekly paycheck. Our staff is always on hand to provide supervision and training. We also offer off-site employment enclaves at businesses in the community, with our staff providing transportation and supervision. For individuals referred through the Georgia's Department of Labor Vocational Rehabilitation program, we offer work evaluations, work adjustment training, community work adjustment training, personal and social adjustment training, job placement, and job coaching.
Community Access Programs
Designed for individuals with NOW and COMP Medicaid waivers as well as private pay funding, our programs feature community outings, a variety of classes, and other activities. The goal of our Community Access programs is to assist individuals in developing their daily living and socialization skills outside of the home.
Our daily day support activities include classes on reading, language skills, music, and current events as well as arts & crafts, games, and more.
Day Habilitation
Gail Green leads the Day Hab program, which offers instruction on daily living skills along with various recreation activities. Day Hab is offered for individuals for whom work may not be an option or choice. Activities include art, exercise, community outings, a stamp collecting club, and much more! The dedicated staff at Day Hab are always developing new ideas for activities!
Art Program
The art program is a favorite at CEI! Professional artist Mark Knott teaches weekly classes to the creatively minded.
Yoga & Exercise Classes
These classes are available for those with goals for physical fitness. Professional instructor Jill Coppinger leads our very popular Yoga class.

Computer Lab
Our computer lab features high speed internet and accessibility software.
Community Outings
Individuals choose from a variety of different outings offered each month. Some popular destinations include bowling at Stars & Strikes, watching plays at the Aurora Theatre, strolling through the mall, and picnicking at the park. Some of the most exciting outings this year included watching an amazing performance of the Big Apple Circus and a visit to the Atlanta Falcons training camp to meet the players!

Paws-itive Pet-Purri Class
This class provides an opportunity to learn about and interact with animals. Each month, a group visits the Courtyard Gardens Assisted Living facility here in Lawrenceville for pet therapy.
