Halloween Party

Our staff and clients had a wonderful time celebrating Halloween this year.  A fun time was had by all that included cake walks, prizes for the best costumes, and plenty of dancing for everyone.  We also appreciate the hard work from our volunteers who helped make everything happen.  Check out the pictures!

Mark you calendars, because CEI will be hosting an open house on Wednesday, December 9, from 10am until 1pm.  Refreshments will be served!  We would like to invite everyone to visit us and go on a guided tour of our facility.  See what we are all about- watch our clients at work, walk through our beautiful Greenhouse, visit our Gift Shop full of artwork and other crafts made by our clients, and visit our other buildings.  We will have lots of gifts for sale, including our very own Greenhouse specialties, including Christmas Cactus and other plant arrangements.  Don’t forget your wallet for these and other gifts!  We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards.

Day Hab Pictures

Check out the latest pictures from our Day Habilitation Program on our Flickr album!  Personal Coach Latifah Shakir has been working on several art projects with our clients.  Works include collages, printmaking, and painting among others.  Art supplies can be hard to afford, so we like to celebrate the green- bringing in recycled materials from home to craft our works.  Some of our altered books were chosen for the Gwinnett County Public Library's Altered Book Contest and displayed at the Hudgens Center for the Arts as well as the Lawrenceville Library.  Click here to read more about the altered books.

CEI Golf Classic

The 2009 CEI Golf Classic was a big hit!  We would like to thank all of our players, sponsors, volunteers, and staff who helped to make this a special event.  Take a look at the pictures here.

CEI at Folk Fest

CEI's art program had a big weekend with our very own booth at Folk Fest 2009!  Our artists enjoyed the amazing opportunity to sell their works alongside their peers in the largest folk art venue in the world.  We would like to thank everyone who came out and helped to make it an amazing weeked.  Check out the pictures on our Flickr album.

Hudgens Center Pottery Exhibition

From April through June of this year, the Hudgens Center for the Arts hosted "Transitions and Diversions: Georgia Clay Now," co-curated by our art instructor Mark Knott.  CEI was lucky to be a part with its own exhibition featuring pottery works created by individuals in our art program.  We would like to thank everyone who visited, but in case you missed it click here to see pictures.

Dance Class Party!

Our dance class, instructed by LeeAnna Ward, had a presentation party on Friday, 7/10.  LeeAnna's class invited everyone at CEI who loves to dance (which is just about everyone!) to watch them perform the dances they have learned and join in the fun.  Check out the pictures here.
